How to set up Categories? How to edit Categories?

Categories can be used to categorise or group the Projects and Items that you are working on. They can then be used to sort or filter your Project and Item views.

Setting up and Managing Categories

Your Project and Item Categories can be managed in your Settings under "Categories":

Select the "Project" tab to create and manage Project Categories, and the Items tab to create and manage Item Categories.

To add a new Category, click either the "+ New" or the "+ Add" buttons:

You can then enter a name for your new Category, and click on the color to select the color for your new Category:

Once you are done customizing your Category, hit the "Create" button to save it:

To edit an existing Category, hover over the category you wish to edit, and click the pencil icon:

To delete an existing Category, hover over the category you wish to delete and click the trash can icon:

To reorder your Categories, click the dots to the left of the Category and drag:

Re-ordering your Categories will affect the order that Categories are displayed on your Projects List page and your Items List page.

Adding Categories to Projects

To add a Category to a Project, on the Projects List page tick the box next to the Project or Projects you wish to add the Category to, then Click "Category" on the bulk actions toolbar:

You can select the Category you wish to apply, click "x Clear" to clear the existing Category, or click "+ Create" to create a new category:

You can also do this directly from the Project Details page of a Project, by clicking in to the Category field in the Details section:

Adding Categories to Items

To add a Category to an Item, on the Items List page tick the box next to the Item or Items you wish to add the Category to, then Click "Category" on the bulk actions toolbar:

You can select the Category you wish to apply, click "x Clear" to clear the existing Category, or click "+ Create" to create a new category:

You can also do this directly from the Item Details module of an Item, by clicking in to the Category field in the Details section:
