Why am I not able to view an existing item?

If there is an item that you believe that you should be able to view but you find that you cannot locate it on the appropriate project, you likely have not been assigned to that item or do not otherwise have your permissions configured to view it. Please reach out to the appropriate management contact on your Project to discuss getting added to the item/your permissions adjusted.

If you do have permission to view the task, but it still doesn't appear, the likely culprit is one of the two below-highlighted buttons:
