Work Stages can be used to indicate the status of a Project, Item, Quote, or Invoice.
Work Stages are grouped by work state i.e. "Active Stages", "Completed Stages", and "Deleted Stages", which represent key phases in a project or task's lifecycle. Work states can have multiple stages, which represent the steps that need to be completed before moving onto the next phase.
As, for example, the below image where the "Active Stages" include "Pending", "In Progress", "Review", On Hold", Revisions", and "Additional Review", while the Completed Stages here only includes "Finished" and the Deleted Stages only includes "Deleted":
Changing the Work Stage on any particular Project/Item/Quote/Invoice from one set of work state to another not only has a labelling affect, but also changes the state of that particular piece of work.
For example, changing the Work Stage on a Project from an "Active" stage to a "Deleted" stage would delete the Project:
And changing the Work Stage on a Project from an "Active" stage to a "Completed" stage would change the Project to a completed state:
To configure your Work Stages, navigate to your Settings and select "Work Stages" from the left-hand Settings menu:
You can add a Work Stage by clicking the "+" symbol underneath a work state group:
Hovering over an existing Work Stage will provide you with options to change that existing Work Stage. Click the "
" pencil icon to edit the name of the Work Stage, the "
" trashcan icon to delete the Work Stage, or the "
" color palette icon to edit the color of the Work Stage:
You can also click and drag to re-order the Work Stages:
Once you have your Work Stages configured, you can change the Work Stage on a Project, Item, Quote, or Invoice by clicking on the Work Stage and selecting the Work Stage you wish to change to:
