Speed Tips

ProWorkflow is heavily optimised but low network bandwidth can cause performance issues that may be worsened when viewing pages that contain a large amount of information. If severe performance issues arise then contact the ProWorkflow support team but the following suggestions can help for mild performance issues:

Upgrade or change your Internet Browser:

Internet Explorer is generally slower to render pages than either Mozilla's Firefox or Google's Chrome browsers (both of which are fully supported for use with ProWorkflow). If you are not using one of these browsers then switching can reduce the page load time significantly. Whatever browser you are using, ensure you are using the latest version as this is usually the quickest version and will also fix bugs that might be slowing down ProWorkflow.

Reduce the default number of records to display:

  1. Click 'Home' , located at the top of the left nav bar.
  2. Click 'My Personal Settings' located towards the bottom of the right nav bar underneath 'More…'.

For all pages other than the Tasks Page: The Default Record View settings change the number of records a user can choose to view. It is possible to choose different settings for:

  • Project Archive
  • Projects Page
  • Tasks Archive Page
  • Timesheet Page
  • Contacts Page
  • Company Page

There are three options that can be set for each section and the default number of records to show can also be set.

  1. Select the three options for the number of records the user wants to view using the three drop-down boxes for each section.
  2. Click the radio button to set the default number of records the user wants to view for each section. For best performance set this to 10 or less.
  3. Click 'FINISH'

For the Tasks Page:

  1. Scroll down to Default Page Options
  2. View" drop-down box to change whether to view "Project Tasks" (shows all tasks) or "Upcoming Tasks" (shows only tasks coming soon) for the tasks page.
  3. If "Upcoming Tasks" is selected then selected a time period to display, for best performance select 1 week or less.
  4. Click 'SAVE' to make further changes to personal settings or click 'FINISH'. Both buttons are located at the bottom of the page.

Remove Upcoming Items from the Homepage:

  1. Click 'Home' , located at the top of the left nav bar.
  2. Click 'My Personal Settings' located towards the bottom of the right nav bar underneath 'More…'
  3. Scroll down to 'Calendar Page Settings'.
  4. Use the check box to turn off upcoming items on the Homepage.
  5. Click 'FINISH'

Only Use "Show Info for All Users" when necessary

The "Show Info for All Users" greatly increases the amount of information that ProWorkflow displays. Use this feature only when required, at any other time have "Show Info" set to the logged in user.
